"Toponymy Topology" 3D Illustration Series
This project was created for my Illustration thesis at OCAD University. These illustrations were created with Blender 2.8, Zbrush, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, and Photoshop over two semesters. My intention was to focus on establishing an efficient 3d illustration style and workflow for myself that let me study a subject matter that deeply interests me along the way.
Toponymy Topology takes seemingly innocuous place-names and uncovers the folkloric histories embedded within them. The borders between cultural fantasy and feasible experience are blurred together as travelers are immersed in these places, unaware of the ancient meanings nested in their names.
